PILLARS OF AGONY

PILLARS OF AGONY

The Reichs Museum invites its visitors to witness a rich and fascinating colonial history that dates back several centuries. We invite you to explore our archives and our Imperial rooms to learn about the significant events that shaped our collections. Gaza is the latest entry. Visits are by appointment only. All visitors and witnesses are reminded to stay silent!

Exhibitions

Our museum hosts a variety of exhibitions showcasing art, cartography, and anthropology. Each exhibition is the result of a conflict in regions without democracy and freedom of speech, with our art works we provide an unique insight into colonialism and the mighty Empire -

an immersive experience for all visitors.

Educational Programmes

We offer a range of educational programmes for individuals, schools and families. These programmes are designed to engage participants and enhance their understanding of art and Colonial history.

In order to continue our valuable work we need you to continue staying ignorant about the history of Palestine and the entire Middle East. Thanks to the generous donations from the UAE we will expand our work to the African continent starting with Sudan and Congo.

THE AUCTION HOUSE

The Past: Alonso Berruguete’s St Sebastian - The Present: JM's Gazan Boy

According to what was a well-known story, St Sebastian was a Roman army general who was martyred for his Christian faith by the anti-Christian Emperor Diocletian in 283 AD. Shot through with arrows, he was miraculously nursed back to health, only to be martyred by being stoned to death.

The Auction House is not about sculptures of the Roman times but about martyred or almost martyred mostly young Palestininans.

The Gazan Boy recently broke all records and received international attention when the audience found out that he was still alive.

Soon this became the norm and our silence enabled the creation of several thousand other sculptures of dead or alive Palestinians.

The screening of the entire recorded live footage is now part of our permanent witness rooms.

Entry to all auctions and live particpation can be accessed via your annual RM Silence Membership!
